About

Nour and Gordon Davis established the Haneena Hill property in 1989 when they moved a large historic house from Brisbane to the Granite Belt hill site. They developed the surrounding gardens and ensured the preservation of the old growth forest and granite escarpments with a vision for future visitors to engage with this unique site and contemplate time in its deepest geological sense.

Barbara and Nameer have taken up residence and created a base for their  art practices on the property. Drawing and painting workshops have been offered since 2018 with plans to provide future art residencies on the property.

Nameer Davis BAHo, MA maintains a full-time studio painting practice together with weekly teaching in painting and drawing at the Brisbane Institute of Art. Born in England, growing up in Nigeria, Australia and the UK, with extensive travels to China and Europe, Nameer’s work reflects a diversity of cultural influences most recently through pattern and textile.
